Description
The SMART Office will fund one fellowship position focusing on law enforcement/criminal justice responses to victims of sexual violence. The goal of this fellowship will be to work on a wide range of victim services in relation to sex offender registration and public notification, to include support and delivery of resources.
The SMART Office's Strengthening Responses to Victims of Sexual Violence Fellowship will identify programs and policies focused on victims of sexual violence to enhance coordination with other law enforcement and criminal justice programming Âin particular, registration and notification Âand the U.S. Department of Justice. This work will require the ability to leverage and access victim services groups and organizations, and to assist jurisdictions with SORNA-related issues. This work will also require the Strengthening Responses to Victims of Sexual Violence fellow to maintain collaborative working relationships with other DOJ offices that develop and manage programs to support victims of sexual violence, in particular, the Office of Victims of Crime, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Office on Violence Against Women.
