The SMART Office administers grant programs relating to sex offender registration and notification authorized by the Adam Walsh Act Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 and other grant programs as directed by the Attorney General.

Grant and Financial Management Information 

Information about applying for all Office of Justice Programs grants can be found at the OJP Funding Resource Center, including information on the OJP grant process, how to apply, grant performance measurement and progress reporting requirements, and post-award instructions.

Financial award questions: For financial questions regarding an award, contact OJP’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-458-0786 (TTY: 202-616-3867) or [email protected].

SMART-specific grant award questions: For questions regarding a SMART award(s), including training and technical assistance requests, contact your SMART Office grant manager directly. If you are unsure who your grant manager is, contact the SMART Office at [email protected] or 202-514-4689.

PLEASE NOTE: As of September 23, 2020, the Grants Management System (GMS) is no longer accessible for external users. On October 15, 2020, data were migrated from GMS to the Justice Grants System (JustGrants). This includes all open, active awards and any awards that have not yet reached final closure. All award management activities will now take place in JustGrants.
