Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $399,985)

The goals of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation (MCN) are 1) to expand and enhance the MCN Lighthorse Police Department (LHP) SORNA Program into a sustainable program that will meet the needs of the MCN jurisdiction; and 2) Expand a sustainable and practical program that addresses the issues of sex offenders not registering upon entering tribal property and reach MCN Citizens and other American Indians/Alaskan Natives with information to educate them about the SORNA Program to protect the MCN Citizens, resident American Indians/Alaskan Natives, and the general public. The overriding goal of this project is to enhance compliance with SORNA, improve the SORNA Program within the Tribe’s criminal justice system, establish partnerships with outside agencies and carry out SORNA duties, including those previously assigned to BIA Law Enforcement. CA/NCF
