SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Virginia State Police

Virginia State Police will use AWA grant funds to support a procurement contract for live scan units to be installed in local courthouses, police departments and Sheriff’s offices throughout the Commonwealth. These live scan units will provide fingerprint-based sex offender registration and offender record updates, including names, addresses, employers, schools, and vehicles. The live scan units will provide this information in an automated electronic process as part of their integrated Multi-modal Biometrics System and Virginia Sex Offender Management System.
