SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Attorney General's Office of South Dakota

The South Dakota AG’s Office will use AWA grant funds to: 1) develop, conduct and attend training for the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) personnel, prosecutors and law enforcement from federal, state, local, and Tribal jurisdictions; 2) decrease the number of missing DNA samples and non-compliant offenders by hiring a compliance position who will work with DCI, local law enforcement and Tribal agencies to locate offenders who have not submitted a DNA sample or are non-compliant on the SD registry and neighboring states; and 3) purchase [replacement] signature pads, ink pads for agencies still using paper fingerprint cards, and webcams due to more frequent online meetings and trainings.
