SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: State Law Enforcement Division

South Carolina’s State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has made substantial progress in developing and operating its sex offender registry program; however, outdated systems, staff turnover and heavy workloads continue to be a challenge. To address these ongoing challenges, SLED will use AWA funds to sustain and enhance staffing positions. This includes retaining auditing, training, and administrative support positions crucial tor ensuring compliance with SORNA requirements.
