SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Nevada Department of Public Safety

To enhance its SORNA compliance, the Nevada Department of Public Safety's Sex Offender Registry (SOR) Unit continues to work toward 100% case file digitization. Through digitization of hard copy files, Nevada will have the ability to share SOR records with other criminal justice agencies and law enforcement in an electronic format through automated means. AWA funding will support temporary contract staff to complete the ongoing tasks of auditing, scanning, digitizing, and boxing of hard copy case files for Nevada State Library and Archives storage and retention. In addition, NV DPS requests funding to obtain OffenderWatch licenses to help local law enforcement agencies to better track offenders and share that information with other law enforcement agencies.
