The New Jersey State Police (NJSP) is the agency responsible for the organization and maintenance of data regarding convicted sex offenders in the state, which in turn feeds into the National Sex Offender Registry. To ensure NSOR is provided with timely and accurate information, NJSP is dedicated to complying with SORNA standards. NJSP has identified areas for improvement in its equipment, software, and training with the goal of bringing the state closer to compliance with SORNA standards. AWA funding will keep the NJSP in compliance with NSOR regulations and ensure both the state and federal governments’ sex offender records are accurate.
