Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $242,990)

Nebraska State Police will use AWA grant funds to support salaries of three administrative specialists and one administrative technician who will be dedicated to the Sex Offender Registration (SOR) Division, along with computer equipment and supplies necessary to complete their daily tasks. An Administrative Technician will continue to monitor jail tracking, process verification letters, process court name change checks, track transient offender updates, file SOR documents and assist with Offender Relocation Tasks. An Administrative Specialist will continue to process verification non-compliance, validation packets, receive/process alerts when sex offenders relocate or re-offend and is responsible for the digitization of sex offender records. This request also includes funding for SOR employees to attend training or conferences to acquire up to date information on current trends and research in sex offender tracking.
