SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Montana Department of Justice

Montana will utilize AWA funds to retain an attorney within the Division of Criminal Investigation. The attorney's responsibilities include advising legislators and legislative committees on statutory updates related to sexual offenders; establishing memorandums of understanding with tribal partners in Montana; assisting in reducing sexual offender non-compliance through the prosecutorial process; and facilitating tier designations and other necessary legal determinations for sexual offender compliance.
