Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $350,613)

Crow Tribe will use AWA grant funds to rebuild their sex offender registration program and work in conjunction with the state of Montana. The Tribe will identify and monitor sex offenders residing, working, attending school, visiting, or moving through the Tribal land. The Tribe also plans to revitalize and maintain SORNA compliance, strengthen multi-jurisdictional partnerships to facilitate efficient communication, collaboration and coordination of relevant information and resources for SORNA enforcement. Additionally, the Tribe proposes to increase training and technical support to the SORNA compliance officer, regular Tribal law enforcement, Crow Tribal Court Probation officers and Crow Tribal Prosecutor to ensure basic compliance with applicable Tribal, State and Federal law.
