SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Department of State Police Michigan

Michigan State Police will use AWA funds to ensure SORNA compliance by enhancing the Michigan Sex Offender Registry (MSOR) for efficient in-person checks, increased digital signing capabilities, and improved data entry with moveable pop-up data grids. Funding will be used to identify registrants who failed to verify or absconded within the last year. Michigan State Police Troopers with the Emergency Services Team will conduct state-wide quality assurance checks and update these records. Finally, funds will be used for the procurement of a consulting company to review the MSOR system and SOR unit processes, provide process improvement recommendations and future systematic needs.
