SMART FY 2024 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program: Rhode Island Department of Public Safety

The Rhode Island Department of Public Safety (RI DPS) will use AWA grant funds to maintain its sex offender registry staff positions (program coordinator and program analyst), which are essential to the overall integrity of the registration and notification process, as well as fund the yearly license fee for OffenderWatch. The RI DPS also plans to hold a statewide conference on sex offender registration, monitoring, and community notification. This conference will bring all members of law enforcement responsible for sex offender registration together for formal training and education.
