The Mescalero Apache Tribe will use AWA grant funds to hire one full-time SORNA compliance officer and one administrative assistant. These positions will be responsible for registering new sex offenders; ensuring compliance for current offenders with the Mescalero Apache Tribal Code and SORNA; conducting and filing compliance checks; digitizing records; and completing data collection through the TAP, TTSORS and the Criminal Justice Information System.
