FY 2023 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program

The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), Division of State Police Offender Registry Unit will continue to develop and enhance law enforcement and criminal justice agency information sharing within and between jurisdictions. This will be accomplished by using AWA grant funds to hire temporary workers to investigate open violation cases and complete investigative reports. DESPP will also use the investigators to update records with photo identification in NCIC for immediate sharing. Additionally, the funds will support overtime for sworn detectives to review and complete reports, review the backlog of open violation cases and train new personnel.
