FY 2023 Support for Adam Walsh Act Implementation Grant Program

The Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center will use AWA grant funds to work toward implementing SORNA requirements by funding salaries for investigators assigned to the Sex Offender Tracking Unit within the Investigations Division of the Department of the Attorney General and to contract with the Deputy Attorneys General who are assigned to the Criminal Justice Division. The Sex Offender Tracking Unit is responsible for notifying sex offenders of their responsibility to register, registering sex offenders, conducting residential checks and investigating cases where the individual is in violation of the sex offender registration statute.
