Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $396,894)

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) will use grant funds to improve, enhance, and expand the services and operations of CRST SORNA Program on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation, which will allow for continued compliance and expansion of program delivery. To accomplish these goals CRST will: 1) continue and expand a community outreach and education campaign; (2) secure a shredder to destroy all sex offender paper files/records after they have been digitized for archiving; and (3) secure decals for the SORNA unit for recognition of the unit and program. It is the goal of CRST to protect public safety and the well-being of all reservation residents through the effective operation of the CRST Tribal SORNA Program, continued enhancement of program operations, and constant monitoring of sex offenders within the jurisdiction.
