The Wyoming Office of the Attorney General (WYAG) is the designated agency in the State of Wyoming providing centralized collection, collaboration, and service for SORNA data on convicted sex offenders in the state. WYAG and local agencies have identified the major challenges existing in the State of Wyoming relating to continuing SORNA compliance. WYAG and local agencies, have identified an overarching goal: to enhance the internet-accessible repository of registration, management, enforcement, supervisory data and biometric on each offender, accessible from anywhere and shared with all collaborators, thereby improving enforcement and prosecution when required. This goal is further described by five detailed points which correspond with the specific strategies and projects suggested in the SMART Office announcement. These are: 1. To develop and implement training for law enforcement personnel responsible for sex offender activities as they relate to SORNA implementation in the State of Wyoming by providing training at sites in the state and continuing web-based instruction for users of the technology enhancements, DNA biometric collection. 2. To enhance biometric sample collection and analysis by Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation’s State Crime Laboratory and decrease the backlog and turnaround time for the submitting agencies. 3. To provide processes and procedures to report grantee monthly data as required by SMART Office, and, to provide quarterly User Group input through review of Performance Measure (PM) data, and progress towards implementation and operation of statewide solution. 4.
