Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $400,000)

The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation will use funding to remain substantially implemented, continue to maintain its sex offender registry, and require sex offenders to register and maintain current registration. Funding will also be utilized to continue to substantially implement the SORNA program by communicating with other Tribes and municipalities to share information/implementation strategies and to resolve critical multi-jurisdictional challenges; develop in-depth physical and technical search capacities in order to identify and monitor sex offenders residing, working, visiting, going to school, or moving through the area; research and develop multi-disciplinary and culturally appropriate approaches to community education and notification; implement records management projects; and provide support for coordinated inter-agency efforts.
