Virginia State Police (VSP) will use the grant funds to procure 22 live scan units to be installed in the Bureau of Field Operations area offices. The live scan units will provide fingerprint-based sex offender registration and offender record updates to include names, addresses, employers, schools and vehicles. Furthermore, the live scan units will provide information in an automated electronic process as part of VSP’s integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System and Sex Offender Registration system.
